On August 24, CELAJ council held the meeting to convey the spirit of learning President Xi Jinping’s important article "Chinese Modernization is the Road to the construction of a strong country and National Rejuvenation" and the important instructions he made on the occasion of the first National Ecology Day.” The meeting was presided over by Mei Liming, executive vice president of CELAJ. Vice presidents of CELAJ Kuang Sheng, Ke Hua and Wang Jianxin, members of academy council Cheng Jisheng and Xiao Huaxiao attended the meeting. The directors of academy’s departments were present. 

It was agreed that Xi Jinping’s article in-depth elaborates Chinese modernization theory. It is a major theoretical innovation. The important instructions he made on the occasion of the first National Ecological Day profoundly clarified the great significance and practical requirements of strengthening the construction of ecological civilization, and provided action guidelines for us to carry out ecological civilization construction.

The meeting stressed that it is necessary to closely combine the study of Xi Jinping’s important articles with the study and implementation of the Party's 20th National Congress. Party members and cadres should deeply understand and grasp a series of major theoretical and practical issues such as Chinese modernization, and contribute to promoting Chinese modernization and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Efforts should be made to maintain strategic resolve to advance ecological progress on the new journey of building China into a modern socialist country in all respects, urging efforts to enhance environment protection while promoting high-quality development.
