The academy council held the 18th session to learn the recent important speeches delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, on Oct. 9. The session was presided over by the executive vice president of CELAJ Mei Liming. The other three vice presidents of CELAJ, Kuang Sheng, Ke Hua, and Wang Jianxin attended the session. The directors of all the seven departments of the academy were present.

The session agreed that Xi's speech at the meeting on Talents of Central Committee scientifically answered series of major theoretical and practical problems on talent work in the new era, and clarified guiding thought, strategy target, and key tasks, policy and measures. It was a guiding document for the talent work in the new era; the important speech in the opening ceremony of the seminar for the young and middle-aged cadres at the autumn semester of the Party School of CPC Central Committee, was full of wisdom and thought. It was inspiring and it set basic rules for the growth of young and middle-aged cadres; the remarks and speeches delivered during Xi’s inspection tour in Shanxi province, showed the leader of the party’s keen insight into the two big-picture, and consistent requirement on seizing the critical strategy opportunity, and provided basic guidance for the implementation of the new development philosophy, the construction of new development paradigm, and all-round high-quality development in the new development stage.

The session urged to develop a good grasp of the spirit of Xi’s important speeches, implement the new thought, new strategy and new measures on talent work in the new era in all respects, strengthen the selection and cultivation work of the young cadres, work hard to cultivate, attract, and make full use of the talents, strive to make the career inspire the talents and the talents fulfil the career; to implement the new development philosophy completely and correctly, promote the glorious revolutionary tradition, uphold emancipating the mind, reform and innovate, further boost confidence and responsibility in the undertakings to serve and integrate better into the new development paradigm.
