At the new climax of studying and implementing the important thought of Three Representatives in the whole Party, the construction of CELAJ starts today. It is a great and happy event in the history of our Party’s cadre education. I’d like to express my warm congratulations to you, and extend my heart-felt thanks to all the comrades who take part in the building of the Academy.

Jinggangshan is the cradle of Chinese revolution and Jinggangshan spirit is our Party’s greatest intellectual treasure. Therefore, the Party’s Central Committee decides to establish a national leadership academy in the first rural revolutionary base to educate and arm our cadres with Jinggangshan Spirit of “firm belief, working hard, seeking truth from facts, daring to explore new ways, relying on the masses and daring to win victory.” It is an important measure in meeting the needs of building learning Party and learning society, and in promoting the innovation of our leadership education and training system. At the same time, it will play active and driving roles in encouraging all the cadres to carry forward and develop our Party’s fine tradition and style, to combine the lofty ideal of communism with the firm belief of socialism with Chinese characteristics and to actively plunge into the great cause of the reform and opening to the outside world and the modernization drive by meeting their growing needs of learning, and stimulating their enthusiasm for revolution.

The construction of CELAJ marks that our Party’s leadership education and training cause, like our socialist construction cause, has advanced to a new stage of development. As the saying goes, the highest tower begins from the ground, so a great mission must also start from the beginning. I hope all the comrades who participate in the construction of the academy will take it as a “project of century-long significance” and will stick to the principle of “quality first”, working effectively to ensure the progress of construction, and try to build it into a national quality and clean project. I also hope you will study and act on intensively the important thought of Three Representatives, implement in full swing the guidelines of the school management as “seeking truth from facts, keeping pace with the times, working hard, and exercising state power for the people”, and carry forward the Jinggangshan Sprit to build CELAJ into a real national base conducting education of revolutionary tradition and basic national conditions and to build it into a “gas station” for maintaining all our cadres’ eternal youth.
