　Li Yuanchao: Constructing the Knowledge Base to Broaden Cadres’ Outlook and Mind

　　“We should construct the knowledge base to broaden cadres’ outlook and mind,” said Li Yuanchao in the National Cadre Training Base and Cadre Autonomous Learning Pilot Projects Working Conference

　　It is reported by People’s Net Beijing 29th October (reporter: Dong Hongjun) that The Central Organization Department held a working conference on National Cadre Training Base and Cadre Autonomous Learning Pilot Projects for cadres from Departmental Level of the Central Committee and State Organ. Li Yuanchao, member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Secretariat of the Central Committee and Head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, pointed out that we should push greatly the reform and innovation of cadre education training, make full use of the high-quality education resources of higher education, and establish cadre training base in universities, to construct the knowledge base for broadening the cadres’ outlook and mind.

　　In recent years, some of the universities in our country make proactive trials of the cadre education training and have attained notable progress. In order to further strengthen and regulate the working of training cadres in universities and to promote the universities better their service for science development and cadres’ growth, the Central Organization Department and Education Department issued “Advice on Establishing and Regulating Cadre Training Base in Universities”, and decide the first groups of the National Higher Education Cadre Training Base being the universities as follows: Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Sichuan University, Nankai University, Wuhan University, Zhongshan University.

　　Li Yuanchao said that attaching importance to cadre education is the fine tradition of our Party, and it is also required by the Forth Plenary Session of 17th CPC Central Committee as constructing learning-oriented Party and Learning-oriented cadre team. The practice of establishing cadre training base in universities is a great innovation for strengthening cadre education training, since universities have an edge in terms of knowledge and education such as new knowledge, new technique, new information, and new theory. He also pointed out that university training base should work hard to improve the training’s appropriateness and substantial results by carefully studying the features and law of cadre training in our country, taking into account of the demand of national development as well as cadres’ growth, to achieve effective joint between the discipline advantages of their own and the cadre training demand. The university training base should be in harmony with the cadre autonomous learning reform and work hard to develop brand training programs and construct quality course system, and promote mutually with Party School, School of Administration, and Cadre Academy by complementing each other’s advantages, each giving full play to its strong points.
