Li Yuanchao Giving a Speech at China Executive Leadership Academy Jinggangshan
On March 23rd, China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong, Jinggangshan, Yan’an held a report conference through video for 2009 spring classes. Li Yuanchao, member of the Politburo of the CCCPC, member of the Secretariat of the CCCPC and head of Organization Department of the CCCPC, gave a keynote speech under the heading that leadership should share weal and woe and tide over the hard times together with the masses in the main venue at China Executive Leadership Academy Jinggangshan. He pointed out that the global financial crisis has brought severe challenges and leadership at all levels are supposed to strengthen the cultivation of party spirit and promote good practices, sharing all the weal and woe and tiding over the hard times together with the people.

Li Yuanchao said that our Party’s decent work-style has always been a magic weapon to win the support of the people and to overcome difficulties. Faced with crisis and difficulties, leadership should always keep close connection to the people and improve the abilities to handle the mass work, trying to help build up people’s confidence to overcome difficulties. Moreover, leadership should bring democracy into full play. They ought to stick to the act of consulting the people about the government affairs and political policies and for their demand, activating all the positive factors in the way of developing democracy. A third point Li put forward is to promote a style of plain living and hard working. Leadership should be in accordance with the requirements of the central government, taking the lead to live a plain life and work hard. Finally, Li emphasized that leadership should be strict with themselves in terms of demonstrating the Party character, high morals and an exemplary role.

More than 1000 people in total, including trainees of the 2009 spring classes and all the faculty and staff from China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong, Jinggangshan, and Yan’an attended the video report conference.
